Jamie Jackson, the creative director and co-head of Guitar Hero Live developer FreeStyleGames, said "Through the Fire and Flames" is one of the Guitar Hero community's "most beloved songs of all time." The song also appeared in Double Fine's Brutal Legend and is available for Rock Band as a DLC song.
This song, off the band's 2009 breakthrough album Inhuman Rampage, made its Guitar Hero debut with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
